Developing a strong vertical jump is important to demonstrate explosiveness on any field of play. Coach Shabazz uses several exercises to increase vertical jump. One way that Coach Shabazz teaches is to isolate each leg and strengthen them individually by such exercises as single- leg squats, single- leg box jumps, and single-leg broad jumps. It is important to set yourself apart by doing explosive movements on each leg as opposed to both at the same time to develop a burst off of your weak leg as well as your dominant one. Each leg would dramatically increase in strength, generating much more force into the ground and sending you soaring above your competition.
